AR Scanning Mobile App

Class Project
Task:
For this project, my class was tasked to develop a solution to a problem by designing an user interface that incorporated Augmented Reality. I wanted this project to solve the issue of high health care costs by providing a reliable health information at home.

As a result, I designed a prototype for an app that utilizes augmented reality to scan injuries, infections, or any type of ailment the user highlights. After the user highlights their ailment, the app will then inform them of what was scanned and give recommendations for treatment.
Business Goals:
Considering the complications of navigating the American health care system, this app aims to improve health literacy amongst Americans to encourage them to further seek out medical attention when needed. In addition, this app also strives provide accurate medical information to gain medical credibility.
User Goals:
Users desire to be provided with at-home access to health care information to not only save money, but to not be limited by a mode of transportation. Additionally, users also want to be informed about an ailment they have as well as the treatment options for it.
My Process:
1. Understand. This step is meant to help the designer understand what problem is being highlighted. In this instance, the understanding step in this project yielded that a significant portion of the American population avoid seeking medical attention due to the rising costs of healthcare and insurance.
2. Research the given problem to get ideas of what to consider when developing a solution. For example, the research phase of this project helped determine both the business goals and user goals. From there, I am given a baseline of what features to include in my solution.
3. Define how the problem is going to be solved and begin designing from there. Since I already knew that I was going to develop an app that includes augmented reality before this step, the defining part had already been done. Now all that is left is to begin designing wireframes.
4. Refine low-fidelity wireframe designs into higher-quality designs. From this step, I transformed my low-fidelity wireframes to the first iteration of my high-fidelity wireframes ready to be tested by a user.
5. User Testing. This is where I put my latest iteration to the test by having another person analyze its usability. After testing my app, I received feedback on suggested changes I make to the design. From here, I revert back to the "Refine" step in order to implement the feedback in the following iteration.
6. Launch. Here is where I submit my latest iteration of this app to the client, which in this case was my professor, with the given feedback implemented and finalized.
